The Bhutan Birdlife Society conducted its first talk series entitled “An Evening for a Bird”. The main objectives of the webinar series are to exchange knowledge and information regarding birdlife in Bhutan, to build the capacity of its members, to enhance the social capital of the Society through networking and friendship, and to promote citizen-science and environmental stewardship. The informal weekly webinar series is a platform dedicated for the Society’s members organized by the members. It will be organized every Wednesday between 6.30 – 7.30 pm. It will be in two segments: a talk on a particular bird species followed by discussion on birdlife and other species in the country. We thank the first two presenters: Puran Raiand Phub Dorji Wangruk who presented “Black-headed Cuckooshrike -a new record for Bhutan” and “My untold Story” (Video) respectively. We also thank our Patron Dasho Benji Dorji and Chairperson Hishey Tshering for the support. We are thankful for to Tshering Phuntsho for facilitating the first webinar.The platform was conceived in autumn 2020 by some of our members.
